Caramel Sauce
Caramel is a medium to dark-orange confectionery product
made by heating a variety of sugars. It can be used as a flavoring in puddings
and desserts, as a filling in bonbons, or as a topping for ice cream and
custard.
It’s quick and easy to make with just four ingredients. It only takes 15 minutes. A
sticky caramel sauce that's perfect for, chocolate ice cream, sponge puddings
or fruit.
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup double cream
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Recipe:
Heat a heavy bottom pan, over medium high heat add sugar and sugar will dissolve.
Let it change color from light golden to dark color. Watch
it carefully so that it doesn't burn.
Now and add butter, stir continuously till the butter melts
completely.
After that add cream, stir in the cream and heat gently
until bubbling, stirring continually.
Remove the pan from heat and add a vanilla extract and pinch
of salt (if you used salted butter then no need to add) and mix well. Let it
cool for 2-3 minutes.
Pour in a container and store and use up to a week.
You can use in chocolate, ice creams, cheesecake, custards and cakes as
a topping.
