Burger Buns
Make Burger Buns in your own kitchen that are many times better than anything store-bought and also good for health. These Buns are light and soft but not overly sweet.
Ingredients:
For
Roux:
1
1/2 tbsp Flour
6
tbsp Water
For
Dough:
2
cups + 5 tbsp Plain Flour
3
tbsp Milk powder
3
tbsp Sugar
½
tsp Salt
2
tsp Instant dry yeast
½
cup + 4 tbsp Milk
¼
cup Butter
Milk and
butter or egg for wash
Method:
In a pan heating up, add 1 and 1/2 tbsp. of plain flour with 6 tbsp of water.
Mix it up using a whisk. Cook it on a slow flame until the starches gelatinize
or until the mix starts leaving the pan.
Transfer the flour mix from the pan to a bowl and cover it well with a cling
wrap and keep it aside to cool.
In bowl take milk put sugar n mix well until sugar dissolves
after that add yeast and keep aside for 10 min or place it at warm place.
For the bun dough, take plain flour, salt, milk powder and sugar add Mix
everything together and keep it aside.
After
10 minutes, add the risen yeast mixture to the dry flour mixture. Add the roux
as well. Knead well using hands until it forms a pat.
Take
the dough in to clean platform and knead it for 4-5 minutes when the dough
should be smooth after that add the butter, knead the dough for about
8-10 minutes.
When
the dough it ready, place it in a bowl and cover with a cling wrap and let
it rise for an hour.
After
1 hour, knock down the risen dough and take it out from the bowl into a
platform and sprinkle in some flour and knead it for about a minute.
Now, divide the ready dough into 5 portions and smooth the dough using
your hands. Shape it an oval so that it rises a little higher. Place the
dough balls into a baking tray and cover it with a muslin cloth for another
hour.
Give a milk or egg wash to the risen dough balls. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on
top.
Bake the buns for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees.
Apply some melted butter to the baked burger buns and cover the burger buns
with a muslin cloth until they cool down.
